Battery & Range

The new IONIQ 5 comes with two different battery options, one Standard and the other Long Range. The Long Range gets a 72.6 kWh battery and is expected to reach up to 300 miles on a single charge & up to 220 with the standard 58 kWh battery. 

Charging

The new IONIQ 5 features superfast charging and is one of few in its category with an 800V battery system. A full charge will take just 18 mins when using the ultra-rapid charger and 7 hour 15 mins when using a standard charger. 

Performance

Both battery versions come with a rear mounted electric motor as standard, which come with rear-wheel-drive. You can pay extra for a second electric motor at the front, which will then come with four-wheel-drive. 

The new IONIQ 5 is able to produce up to 306hp with the long range battery and the optional added electric motor, whilst the standard battery will produce 170hp. 

Design

With pure and timeless design lines, the face of the new IONIQ 5 transcends all eras and generations.

Everything to do with the new IONIQ 5 had been carefully designed to create style whilst keeping it efficient. From the front bumper that provides a high-tech interpretation of “serious sportiness” to the active air intakes at the bottom that enhance the appearance as well as improving energy efficiency when closed and cooling the vehicle parts when open. 

Interior 

Inside you will find a masterful integration of digital and analogue technologies - past, present, and future - to create an excellent driving experience. As the battery is installed underneath the floor pan, Hyundai were able to have a perfectly flat floor that increases keg room and enhances the feeling of openness and roominess in the rear seats.  Also, as it's an electric vehicle, the materials used inside are echo friendly. 

Can You Tow With a Hyundai IONIQ 5?

The new IONIQ 5 has come equipped with a towing pack and when in trailer mode it automatically detects the weight and adjusts the driving distance accordingly.
