This is Hyundai’s second N performance EV following the brilliant IONIQ 5 N, and it’s clear they have raised the bar again. From the moment the IONIQ 6 N took on the hillclimb, it grabbed everyone's attention. It is fast, fierce, and thanks to Hyundai’s clever N Active Sound Plus system, it even sounds the part.
Real performance with everyday usability
Watching it launch up the hill was impressive. Hyundai says it does 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds and produces up to 650 PS of power when using N Grin Boost. Top speed? 160 miles per hour. It certainly looked every bit that quick in person. The wide arches, rear spoiler, and low stance all make it clear this is no ordinary electric car.
What stood out to us though is how Hyundai has managed to mix proper performance with real-world comfort. Underneath, you have redesigned suspension, adaptive dampers, a new battery cooling system, and even a feature called N e-Shift that simulates gear changes to give you more of that traditional driving feel.
Built to be fun, whether you are on the road or the track
We also stopped by Hyundai’s stand at the festival to get a closer look at the car and chat to the team. The interior is packed with driver-focused tech including ambient shift lights, customisable sound modes, and performance data tools. One mode even lets you simulate a drift setup, ideal for those heading to a track day.
The IONIQ 6 N is clearly more than just an electric car with a sporty badge. This is a purpose-built performance EV designed to be driven and enjoyed. Hyundai is serious about making cars that appeal to real driving enthusiasts, and we saw that first-hand at Goodwood.
