At the end of April, it was reported there was 42566 electric vehicle charging points across the UK, across 24909 charging locations. To show how quickly things are changing, this was a 37% increase in the total number of charging devices since April 2022. The ‘Low Carbon Lake District Project’ has made it easier for EV owners by creating an EV trail.
EV drivers are invited to explore some of the Lake District's most iconic destinations by taking a road trip on the EV trail. This is a 74-mile route that includes a variety of charging points, including 50 kW rapid chargers. There is lots to see such as lakes, castles, mountains and food locations. To take in all the attractions, it is recommended to spend a weekend or even a week exploring and local accommodation providers now offer overnight charging to cater to EV drivers.
