Electric Vehicle sales are continuing to grow and in just a year have risen by 70%. In order to continue the overall transition to EV, the government will be shifting their focus from kick-starting the UK’s electric car revolution to improving the EV charging infrastructure. This is great for electric car owners as there will be more public charging points which will reduce worry and increase convenience.
There will also be a higher focus on the funding of other road vehicles to increase sales of electric motorcycles, vans, accessible vehicles and taxis.
To support this transition the Government has closed the plug-in grant scheme which supported nearly half a million electric cars on the road today. The scheme was closed on the 14th June 2022.
Electric car drivers are open to many benefits such as zero road tax, lower running and refuelling costs and eventually reliability due to the increase in charging points. This will overall support the switch to zero-emission cars and a greener atmosphere.
