The Renault 5 E-Tech electric, a modern reimagining of the iconic original, has achieved one of the automotive industry’s most prestigious honours by being named “Car of the Year” at the 2024 TopGear.com Awards.
Designed to inject vibrancy into the small electric vehicle segment, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric will be available to order from January. Judges lauded its striking design, high-quality build, and its pivotal role in driving forward electric vehicle adoption.
Jack Rix, Editor of TopGear.com, praised the car’s appeal, stating:

While the Renault 5 E-Tech electric pays homage to the original’s style, it is thoroughly modern in its execution. Agile handling, captivating design features, and innovative details such as the bonnet-mounted charging indicator and the interactive "Reno" avatar make it a delight both to drive and to experience.
Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the vehicle offers built-in Google services with EV-optimised navigation, bi-directional charging through vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, and a choice of two battery sizes. The standard heat pump enhances efficiency, providing a driving range of up to 248 miles* and enabling a rapid recharge to 80% in just 30 minutes*.
