Nissan has announced a strategic collaboration with Anaplan, a leading provider of scenario planning and analysis platforms, to harness artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies for enhanced business optimisation across the AMIEO region (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania).
The partnership’s initial phase focuses on fully digitising Nissan’s car flow process by June 2025. This overhaul will cover everything from vehicle production forecasting to dealer stock management and customer sales. By prioritising data accuracy and operational efficiency, Nissan AMIEO aims to adapt swiftly to consumer and market demands.
The second phase will leverage advanced AI and ML technologies to anticipate shifts in customer preferences, manage fluctuating costs, and address supply chain disruptions. This integration will enable Nissan to make quicker, more informed decisions regarding production and resource allocation throughout the region. The partnership is designed to bolster Nissan's ability to predict long-term market trends, refine product designs, and optimise inventory management.
“This collaboration represents a significant milestone in Nissan’s digital transformation journey and is a critical step toward achieving our mid-term strategy, The Arc,” said Leon Dorssers, Senior Vice President of Region Marketing & Sales at Nissan AMIEO.
“Our commitment to customer-centric innovation drives our business transformation. By placing customers at the core of our operations, this technology will deepen our understanding of their needs and preferences, enabling us to respond more effectively. We believe this will strengthen Nissan’s competitiveness in an increasingly unpredictable market while supporting our global sales and profitability goals.”
Anaplan’s platform is designed to help businesses identify operational challenges and opportunities by delivering accurate, connected, and optimised forecasts for demand, production, and inventory. The platform will be integrated across Nissan’s sales and marketing, supply chain management, manufacturing, logistics, and finance divisions. It will seamlessly work alongside existing systems to ensure agility and responsiveness to current and future customer needs.
“We are excited to partner with Nissan in accelerating its digitalisation efforts, with clear strategies outlined for both short- and mid-term objectives,” said Dayne Turbitt, Managing Director for EMEA at Anaplan. “Our platform is committed to providing timely, data-driven insights to support agile decision-making in today’s complex business landscape. By leveraging our scenario planning and analysis capabilities, we are helping Nissan transform its operations across the AMIEO region, enhancing its ability to anticipate market trends and maintain a competitive edge.”
