MG Motor UK has hit the ground running in 2025, achieving its strongest ever first-quarter sales performance and proving that affordable innovation continues to win the hearts of British drivers.
With 24,641 new vehicle registrations between January and March — a 6.5% increase on the same period in 2024 — MG is quickly becoming a fixture on UK roads. A surge in private customer demand saw March alone account for 15,876 deliveries, underlining the brand’s growing popularity among everyday motorists.
MG ZS Leads the Charge
Driving much of this success is the ever-popular MG ZS SUV, which registered 9,041 units in Q1 — making it the UK’s ninth best-selling car so far this year. The ZS Hybrid+, introduced in late 2024, has been a standout success and currently holds the title of the UK’s best-selling hybrid.
The New MG HS is also continuing its winning streak, racking up 9,738 registrations to claim seventh place in the national sales rankings. With both models firmly positioned in the top 10, MG has strengthened its share of the UK new car market to 4.24%, up from 4.18% in 2024.
