Hyundai Motor UK has further strengthened its partnership with Therfield School through an exciting new project that challenges students to develop professional advertising campaigns for the groundbreaking IONIQ 5 N, providing them with invaluable hands-on experience in automotive marketing and creative direction.
This community outreach initiative aligns with the Hyundai vision of Progress for Humanity, engaging future generations in the evolution of sustainable high-performance mobility. Building on the success of previous years, Hyundai offered students exclusive access to the IONIQ 5 N, allowing them to explore its cutting-edge features and gain a deeper understanding of the engineering behind electric performance vehicles.
Working in agency-style teams, students took on key roles such as Managing Director, Head of Marketing and Creative Director, collaborating to develop comprehensive advertising campaigns. The top three concepts were selected to produce their own video content, with students presenting their final advertisements to key Hyundai employees at the company’s UK headquarters.
During their visit, the students gained valuable insights into automotive marketing and the future of sustainable performance vehicles, helping to nurture the next generation of creative and strategic thinkers in the industry.
Chris Eagle, Head of Business and Enterprise at Therfield School, said:
"The collaboration with Hyundai continues to evolve, offering our students increasingly ambitious real-world challenges. This year's advertising project has given them invaluable experience in creative thinking, teamwork and professional presentation skills. The hands-on experience with the IONIQ 5 N has sparked genuine excitement about the future of sustainable performance vehicles."
Ashley Andrew, President of Hyundai & Genesis UK, added:
"Innovation in sustainable performance is at the heart of the IONIQ 5 N, and it's inspiring to see how the next generation interprets and communicates these advances. This partnership with Therfield School demonstrates our commitment to nurturing young talent and sharing our vision for the future of mobility with our local community."
Hyundai dedication to education extends beyond this initiative through The Great British School Trip programme. Now in its third year, the programme provides bursary funding to ensure every child can benefit from the experience of school trips, regardless of financial circumstances. So far, it has supported 146,882 schoolchildren, with a target of reaching 160,000 by the end of this academic year.
Local initiatives like the partnership with Therfield School complement the Great British School Trip, helping to inspire and engage the next generation.
