Hyundai continues to shine on the world stage as the all-electric INSTER scoops the coveted title of 2025 World Electric Vehicle at the prestigious World Car Awards.
Unveiled at this year’s New York International Auto Show, the announcement marks the fourth consecutive year Hyundai has taken home top honours at the World Car Awards — a remarkable achievement that reaffirms the brand’s growing strength in the electric vehicle (EV) segment.
Chosen by an esteemed panel of 96 motoring journalists from across 30 countries, the INSTER captured attention thanks to its bold design, smart tech, and everyday practicality — qualities Hyundai drivers know and love.
A Winning Streak That Shows No Signs of Slowing
This latest triumph follows an impressive run of success for Hyundai:
- The IONIQ 5 N was named 2024 World Performance Car
- Both IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 achieved triple wins in 2022 and 2023 respectively
Commenting on the win, José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, said:
“The INSTER has struck a chord with customers since day one, and we’re thrilled the World Car Awards jury feels the same. From its intuitive technology to fun-to-drive feel and excellent value, INSTER is everything we strive for at Hyundai — accessible innovation that makes a difference. A heartfelt thank you to everyone in the Hyundai family, and to the jurors for recognising our efforts.”
Why INSTER Stood Out
Designed to bring electric driving to more people, the INSTER combines style, performance, and everyday usability:
- Compact yet capable: Its sub-compact size is ideal for urban life without compromising on interior space or driving comfort
- Impressive range: The long-range 49-kWh model offers up to 370 km on a single charge
- Fast charging: Recharge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes
It’s a great example of Hyundai’s commitment to creating smart, sustainable mobility solutions that don't break the bank.
