Dacia Enters the C-SUV Market with All-New Bigster: A Bold Move to Conquer the C-Segment
The All-New Bigster has been designed to meet the growing demand for spacious, comfortable, and high-performance vehicles in a market where rising costs are becoming an increasing concern. Customers are looking for new cars that don’t compromise on practicality, performance, or space, and Dacia is ready to deliver just that.
A Carefully Planned Product Strategy
Dacia's entry into the C-SUV segment with the All-New Bigster is part of a strategic vision, with the Bigster being just the first of three vehicles planned for the segment. The All-New Bigster is set to challenge the norm and provide customers with a new way to experience the C-SUV, combining the best of Dacia’s values with the demands of today’s market.
Design: Dacia Delivers on its Promise with the All-New Bigster
The Bigster Concept, revealed in January 2021 as part of Dacia’s Renaulution, was the first indication of Dacia’s ambitions to take on the C-SUV segment. It set the stage for high expectations, and now, the All-New Bigster is fulfilling those promises.
David Durand, Dacia Design Director, explains: "With the All-New Bigster, we’ve stayed true to the vision expressed in the Bigster Concept. It’s the ultimate expression of Dacia’s brand values and has now become our flagship vehicle."
True to Dacia’s design ethos, the All-New Bigster combines robustness with a bold, striking presence. The vehicle’s generous dimensions are highlighted by taut, geometric shapes, large wheel arches, and a stance that communicates strength. The design features large wings over the wheels and strategically positioned headlights and rear lights, giving the vehicle an assertive road presence.
The compact, vertical front end is typical of SUVs, while remaining aligned with Dacia’s distinctive design language. The wide, gloss black grille with the iconic “Dacia Link” at the centre is complemented by a sculpted horizontal bonnet designed for optimal road visibility.
The All-New Bigster stays true to the essentials of Dacia’s design philosophy while introducing a touch of ‘cool’ that customers in the C-SUV segment expect. The vehicle’s front and rear skid plates are made from durable, mass-dyed materials, adding resilience and longevity to the exterior. The protective elements around the body – on the sides, wheel arches, and bumpers – are crafted from Starkle®, a material developed by Dacia’s engineers using recycled materials, further reinforcing the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
Functionality and Style
As expected from Dacia, the All-New Bigster offers a practical and functional design that speaks to the needs of modern C-SUV buyers. The vehicle comes equipped with 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, with the 19-inch wheels available on the top-spec Journey trim. A first for Dacia, customers can opt for a black roof on higher trim levels to create a stylish two-tone finish that emphasises the vehicle’s lines.
A new, exclusive body colour – Indigo Blue – adds an extra touch of elegance, making the Bigster stand out in the crowd.
David Durand adds: “When it comes to the interior, we wanted to highlight one of the All-New Bigster’s standout features: its exceptional interior space. We’ve opted for simplicity, with geometric lines that reflect the exterior design, while maintaining the high quality that C-SUV customers expect.”
The All-New Bigster has been designed with the customer at its heart, offering a vehicle that is not only functional but also a perfect fit for those looking for a bold, reliable, and stylish C-SUV. With its robust design, sustainable materials, and spacious, practical interior, the All-New Bigster is set to make waves in the C-SUV market, proving that Dacia's blend of simplicity and innovation is more relevant than ever.
