The Jeep brand continues to climb to new heights as it celebrates its 80th year, introducing the first electrified Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe alongside the off-road Grand Cherokee, the New Trailhawk.
According to Jeep, this fifth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee has been the most awarded SUV ever, built on all-new architecture, all-new exterior design and new plug-in hybrid powertrain. This will be the most technologically advanced and 4X4-capable Jeep Grand Cherokee yet as Jeep pushes to the future with “zero emission freedom.” The Jeep vision for zero emission freedom is further enhanced through their statement to have fully electrified Jeep vehicles in every SUV segment by 2025.
The Jeep Brand CEO, Christian Meunier stated: “The Jeep Grand Cherokee is our global flagship and will be leading the Jeep brand into a new era of premium refinement, innovative technology, advanced 4x4 capability and electrification.” This two-row model will be on sale in the UK in 2022 so keep your eyes peeled for this ground-breaking SUV.
The First-Ever Grand Cherokee 4xe
The 4xe powertrain is built to suit any journey, whether it be commuting to work, long-distance journeys or off-roading. The Grand Cherokee includes three different drive modes: hybrid, electric and eSave. Regardless of the model selected, the Grand Cherokee will operate as a hybrid once the battery nears its minimum state of charge. It targets to deliver an estimated 25 miles of all-electric range, 57 miles per gallon equivalent and a combined driving range of more than 440 miles. The Grand Cherokee has more than 110 advanced safety and security features including active driving assist with hands-on automated driving, plus 360 degree surround view and night vision cameras. The Grand Jeep Cherokee has been crafted with performance, safety and reliability in mind, while significantly reducing vehicle weight, noise, vibration and harshness.
