Dynamic new styling features upgraded technologies & electrified 48 Volt Hybrid engines as standard all packaged together showcase an eye grabbing feat of engineering.

The all new Hyundai i20 has arrived Ancaster Welling! Our Croydon showroom will also feature the new i20 from the 22nd November. 


The all new i20 has visibly been transformed as shown in the below comparison photos. A much improved and striking design appeals to a broader customer profile that will support more emotive purchasing. A longer wheel base and wider chassis also adds to the prowess of the all new i20 while improving interior space available.

The front of the all new i20 makes the most of the increased width with a new grille design that flows directly into the headlamps. Premium & Ultimate trims showcase LED MFR headlamps that incorporate signature LED DRLs as shown.

The rear of the all new i20 is transformed with new tail lamps that incorporate a signature lightning bolt design in LED form (Premium & Ultimate). The reflective stripe provides a distinctive new character to the boot and again enhances the increased width. The black two tone roof included as standard in the Ultimate trim also adds flair to the all new i20.


Inside the car the largest transformation can be seen in the advanced infotainment now boasting 10.25” Navigation including Bluelink (Premium & Ultimate). A new 10.25” Digital Cluster is standard to all trims and will offer a key HERO feature for all new i20. Blue mood lighting in the doors and foot well (Premium & Ultimate) enhance the interior space further while the BOSE Premium Sound System (Ultimate) adds high definition audio quality.

The all new i20 – 48 Volt Hybrid Technology

48 Volt Hybrid Technology is now standard across the full all new i20 range.

The 48 volt hybrid system is available with both transmission options. It’s able to run on electric when decelerating or whilst stopped - conserving fuel at regular intervals on your daily drive. It’s an enhancement over traditional start & stop technology as it is able to switch to electric before the car comes to a complete stop.

The manual transmission type is upgraded to iMT (intelligent manual transmission) gaining the feature of an e-Clutch (electronic clutch). Shifting and driving feeling are equivalent to a conventional MT, however when the vehicle is coasting the engine switches off and the clutch opens up.

The introduction of 48 Volt Hybrid engines greatly improves CO2 output as shown in the WLTP Combined example below. This is ever more important given the latest EU laws and targeting surrounding emission control.


The 10.25” touchscreen featured in Premium and Ultimate trims features the latest version of Hyundai’s Bluelink® telematics system which carries a free of charge 5 year subscription.

The upgraded Bluelink® telematics system features a new user interface which offers a choice between three colour schemes and an enhanced dark night mode. It also displays a range of GPS-based information to aid drivers, including the current speed of the vehicle and information about traffic density.

With a new cloud-based Connected Routing navigation system, driving routes are calculated on a powerful server inside the Bluelink® cloud environment, which harnesses real-life and historical speed information through GPS, which is stored in the server and updated every month, to predict upcoming traffic every five minutes. This ensures more accurate traffic forecasting, more precise times of arrival, and more reliable route recalculations. In addition, the technology uses AI to learn the preferred routes of users. The upgraded Bluelink® telematics system also introduces the Last Mile Navigation feature, which allows customers to continue the journey to their final destination after their car has parked via either Augmented Reality guidance or Google Maps, for a range of between 200 metres and 2 kilometres on their smartphone.

A new User Profile feature allows drivers to install up to two main accounts and one guest account, and stores users’ vehicle preferences, such as the position of the wing mirrors or their favoured cluster layout. The Live Parking Information function has also received a series of upgrades, with new settings for parking type and availability. On-street parking and price information is now available in 43 countries, including all major cities – up from just 75 major cities in Europe. In addition, live filling station information includes fuel prices as before. The design of the safety camera feature has also received a design overhaul.

Users can now also use Bluelink® search for an address or POI in one menu utilising data based on an online “Free Text Search”. Additionally, POI search now has autofill functionality to save drivers time in selecting a destination. Drivers can now also use the POI function to search from a quality selection of La Liste restaurants. Bluelink® still serves as a convenient diagnostic tool which will notify the driver of any vehicle maintenance issues that require attention.
