Hyundai is adding a brand new model to the Hyundai range the all new KONA.
“The All-New KONA is not just another car among Hyundai Motor’s established SUV range - it is an important milestone of our journey to become Asian automotive brand number one in Europe by 2021,” says Thomas A. Schmid, Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Motor Europe. “With its true SUV genes, a progressive design and premium features, KONA reflects the lifestyle of modern customers, enhancing the brand’s appeal and attracting new customers.”
Since the Santa Fe has been released Hyundai has sold more than 1.4 million SUV's in Europe! The Tucson is the fastest-selling SUV of Hyundai Europe with more than 200,000 sales since 2005. This has inspired Hyundai to create the new model the KONA. This is going to be a real SUV with a bold and progressive design, with the latest safety technologies, accessible connectivity and premium features.
The exterior is very expressive and powerful adopting Hyundai Motor's new family identity, the cascading grille. The KONA will feature a two-tone roof and you will be able to choose from ten distinctive exterior colours offering you individual combinations for almost every individual style. There are new twin headlamps that enhance the visual impact and has LED Daytime Running Lights positioned on top of the LED headlights. The separated lights at the front of the Kona deliver a confident, progressive appearance with sleek, sharp shapes. The bold front and rear are emphasised by the car's wide stance and its voluminous, aggressing body styling.
Now when it comes to the interior it's elegantly tailored. It's characterised by smooth surfaces on top of the instrument panel giving it a sensuous and refined feel while dark painted parts represent the technological and rugged character. It is very spacious inside and you can choose between different accent colours and matching colours which can match the stitching on the seats and steering wheel allowing you to personalise every last inch of detail giving you that sophisticated feel.
You will also get the choice between two turbocharged, small-displacement petrol powertrains with high low-end torque and excellent fuel efficiency: a 1.0-litre T-GDI with a 6-speed manual transmission (MT) and 120 PS (88 kW) (fuel consumption combined (preliminary target value): 5.3 l/100 km; CO2 combined (preliminary target value): 119 g/km*) as standard and a high-power 1.6-litre T-GDI with 177 PS (130 kW) and Hyundai’s self-developed 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) and four-wheel drive (fuel consumption combined (preliminary target value): 7.3 l/100 km; CO2 combined (preliminary target value): 169 g/km*). If you tend to travel a lot with your vehicle there is the four-wheel drive option which will suit all kind of driving conditions with up to 50% torque at the rear wheel, enabling you to drive on snow, gravel and regular road surfaces.
Hyundai has used for the first time the new head-up display screen. This will give you all the relevant driving information in front of you so you don't have to take your concentration off the road. You can choose to have an 8-inch infotainment system where you can use navigation, media and connectivity all in one place. It also supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system comes with a seven-year free subscription to LIVE Service giving you updated information in real time like weather, traffic, speed cameras and online searches for points of interest.
Another new feature for Hyundai is the Display Audio this gives you the option to mirror your smartphone to the seven-inch display. This is done through either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto allowing you to make phone calls, dictate messages, listen to your favourite music and can even charge your phone on the go.
When Hyundai was designing the New KONA its was designed for people with active, individual lifestyles so, therefore, has all the latest safety features and a high-strength steel body. The safety features include Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Smart High beam, Lane Keeping Assist, Static bending Light and Driver Attention Alert. You will feel safe in the All New KONA with its strong, light body which enhances the dynamic performance and increases your safety through the use of high strength steel, a broad appliance of hot stamping and 115 meters of structural adhesive.
